The QuickBooks Online price, year by year, with the receipts.

Plus was $70 a month in 2021. It is $140 today. Advanced went from $150 to $340 over the same five years. Every figure below links to where it was read and the date someone read it, because a page like this is only worth having if you can check it.

Intuit's stated reason

Intuit's own notice of the August 2026 change ties it to new capabilities: AI-driven categorization, conversational business intelligence, and invoicing automation, with the price rising "to continue delivering these innovations." The July 2025 notice, summarized by the Woodard Report, said the same in fewer words: continued investment in AI. Whether those features are worth the difference to your business is your call; the increases are not contested by anyone, including Intuit.

Arithmetic, not a forecast: the 2021 to August 2026 rate carried forward. For contrast, Nummio Foundation at $29.00 a month is held for 24 months from signup ($696.00 over the lock). Beyond the lock we promise nothing here except that any change appears, dated, on our own price-history page.

To be fair to Intuit: the whole category is doing this

QuickBooks is the loudest example, not the only one. Xero's own US pricing page announces an increase effective October 1, 2026: Early from $25 to $27, Growing from $55 to $59, Established from $90 to $97 a month, and the multi-organization discount starts to be phased out the same day. Zoho and Wave price per organization too, so a portfolio pays every increase once per business.

Xero, "Pricing Update" (US), verified

The difference we can offer is not that prices never change. It is that ours are locked for 24 months from the day you sign up, that every change we ever make is published and dated on our own price-history page, and that a portfolio pays one bill instead of one per company. Run the arithmetic on your entity count, or watch a QuickBooks file move over before you decide anything.

See the same five years on our side.

One row so far. Every change after it will be dated, forever.
